Hey I’m Jam!  An LGBTQ wedding photographer based out of Buffalo NY and serving the entire western NY region including Rochester and the Finger Lakes as well as the Adirondack Mountains!

2027 will mark 23 years working as a professional photographer - and 13 of those I've spent running Jaimie Ellis Photography!

So when I say I've got your back - I mean it!! I've seen it all when it comes to weddings and I'm here to make sure you have the BEST DAY EVER.

In the past couple of years I've decided to make the cut from shooting 30+ weddings per year, to taking only 12.

This allows me to really get to know each of my couples! We'll spend time together planning your day (you're given my cell number so you can reach out with any questions From "do you think people will enjoy these wedding favors?" to "where should my guests sit or stand during our introductions?". I've seen it all done and am happy to be a planning resource!

We'll further get to know each other during your engagement session (that's included with all of my wedding photography packages). We'll become social media buds if you have an Instagram account and you'll get to see all the juicy bts stories I share (mostly just my cute ass daughter or house renovations).

By the time your wedding day rolls around, we'll be buds. And you won't feel like I'm just an impersonal vendor following you around with my camera.

As a type A personality I struggle to just sit back and let someone else take the reins, especially on something as important and tricky as a wedding day.  What exactly does that mean for you as one of my couples?

BEFORE YOUR WEDDING:

• TIMELINE!!!  This is the number one thing I ask you to let me take care of for you!  I know how much time we need to allot for certain parts of the day

• LOCATION SCOUTING - no idea where you want to take your portraits the day of?  Don’t worry I will guide you to figuring out exactly what makes the most sense for your aesthetic, timeline, etc.  This also applies to suggestions for getting ready locations or even ceremony or reception venues if needed

• VENDOR RECOMMENDATIONS - I'll guide to you the best of the best. When your vendors are working as a well oiled machine, your day is sure to be easy breezy

• Unlimited amounts of emailing, phone calls, etc to plan

• A questionnaire you will fill out detailing everything from your wedding party, to what your family looks like (ie. Are mom and dad divorced and refuse to even stand next to each other, can grandma not walk far or stand long), vendor info, emergency contact info, questions about what’s most important to you on the day, what you’re most excited about, etc

• A final phone call 2 weeks out to discuss your timeline again and your family photo list (which I will compile for you based on who will be there)

ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS are included in all of my wedding photography packages so that we can spend some time together before your big day and you can get some practice in front of the camera!

CAMERA SHY? Don't worry I'll be giving you lots of games and prompts to stay focused on each other and not worrying about the big, scary camera.

THE DAY OF:

• HERE’S THAT TIMELINE AGAIN - no need to worry about whether we're on time or not, I'll make sure we are! And on the off chance something crazy happens to make the timeline out of whack I'll adjust it on the spot to work for us

• WHATEVER YOU NEED - making sure you’re fed, watered, aren’t leaving the Airbnb without your vows or rings, carrying your dress as you walk, yelling at the groomsmen to take everything out of their pockets and put their beers down for photos, you name it! My number one priority is YOU and I'll be doing whatever I need to do to not only make your day run smoothly, but to get gorgeous photos along the way :)

AFTER YOUR WEDDING:

• SNEAK PEEK - that's right! Within 48 hours you'll be seeing a handful of your GORGEOUS photos... get ready to show them off, babe!

• ALL THE PHOTOS - will be delivered in an online, downloadable, password protected gallery within 8 weeks tops (and I've NEVER been late!)

• LET'S GROW TOGETHER - after your wedding day I would be honored to continue our relationship! Whether that be maternity, boudoir, newborn or family photos or even just a catch-up-over-coffee date ☕️

Consultation calls take anywhere from 45 minutes to a little over an hour depending on how chatty we get 🤓 During this time we'll get to know each other and I will get a basic overview of your wedding day and create a tentative timeline so that I can recommend a package or custom quote.
