5 western New York venues for the outdoor-loving couple
Need to infuse a little fresh air and sunshine into your big day? I totally get it. I basically pout like a child if it's sunny and I'm not outside soaking it all in 😎
You want your wedding to still be a classy affair though... you don't want it to feel like just another fourth of July picnic!
So where do you go to get the great outdoors and get a gorgeous venue with all the professionalism and accommodations of a traditional wedding venue? This list will tell you so keep on reading my friend....
1. MIRBEAU INN & SPA | SKANEATELES NY
Ok so this one requires a bit longer of a drive if you're coming from the Buffalo/Niagara region, but I promise it will be more than worth it for you and your guests! Plus you can stay right at your venue, so there's no need to find accommodations once you get there!
My #1 choice is Mirbeau Inn & Spa - where your nuptials will be held on a bridge over the koi pond and your reception will be set between the stunning gardens and magical woods. If you love florals, this is the place to be when the gardens are in bloom.
2. TIMBERLODGE AT ARROWHEAD GOLF CLUB | AKRON NY
Say "I do" overlooking the beautiful golf course grounds or under the pavilion if the weather turns! Timberlodge at Arrowhead is one of my favorite indoor/outdoor venues that features a stunning rustic building for your dinner as well as multiple outdoor patios and a gazebo for your ceremony, cocktail hour and dancing the night away.
Another one of my favorite features in the boardwalk area available for bride(s)/groom(s) portraits. It's so serene and makes for absolutely stunning photos!
Rustic not really your style? Make sure to check out the other venue on their property - the Sterling. All the same features but with a modern, glass sided building for your reception!
3. O'BRIEN'S SLEEPY HOLLOW | EAST AURORA NY
Quietly tucked away on a back road in East Aurora and nestled alongside Buffalo Creek sits O'Brien's Sleepy Hollow. It's a picturesque spot if pretty landscapes and nature are your thing (and they are, aren't they? 😉)
With a classic white tent to host your reception under, there's no need to worry about rain or a chilly day. And have I mentioned, how yummy their food is?! Your guests will be raving about this venue!

4. SPRING LAKE WINERY | LOCKPORT NY
Do you like wine? Of course you do! It's yummy and grows in such pretty places! Such as Spring Lake Winery in Lockport. Their pretty vineyard, railroad tracks, pond and beautifully kept grounds will make you want to spend a little extra time exploring during your photo time :)
These guys got you 'covered' in case of cold or rainy weather too - your reception can be held under their wooden pavilion - a little extra rustic touch to your nature-y wedding.
5. HERON HILL WINERY | HAMMONDSPORT NY
Two words: Finger Lakes. Ahhhh can you picture it? A beautiful vineyard overlooking an even more beautiful lake... you and your other half promising forever in the midst of it all. That's what you'll get at Heron Hill Winery, set on Keuka Lake.
Only a couple hour drive from Buffalo, there's a reason the finger lakes are such a popular wedding destination!
