Plus sized boudoir doesn't exist.
It is, simply, boudoir.
My favorite thing about boudoir is the lack of rules. The rebelliousness. The big middle finger to the patriarchy, to the beauty industry, to anyone who's ever tried to claim that there are "standards" to what makes a woman beautiful.
Boudoir celebrates YOU exactly as you are.
How is styling different for plus size boudoir?
Styling for boudoir sessions will always be a little different from woman to woman. We're all unique and have our own individual style - and I love to see that reflected in boudoir photos. Other than that, there's absolutely no difference in styling a plus size woman.
These sessions can be as bold (nekked) or classic (fully clothed) as you like.
I'm always happy to help you in the planning process as well - especially if you need assistance finding outfits that you love!
What types of poses are good for plus size women?
At this point I'm hoping you've already guessed my answer to this question... ALL poses! Posing for plus sized boudoir is no different. Let me shout it from the rooftop babe!!
Every woman who steps through my studio doors is asked to fill out a Questionnaire. Two of the questions on there focus on what you're most excited to feature in your photos (eyes, legs, booty, etc) and what you may feel a little more insecure about showing off.
While I'm here to pump you up and show you that you are STUNNING exactly as you are, I also don't want you to feel insecure during your photo shoot or when we do your photo reveal later that day. So I invite you to be as open and honest about how you're feeling ahead of time so we can address those issues.
What is the plus sized boudoir experience like at Jaimie Ellis Photography?
The same as everyone else's! Before you come into the studio I'll send you the Ultimate Prep Guide so you can get ready for your shoot. It will go over things like outfit and styling ideas, where to shop, what types of accessories to bring, how to prepare your skin, hair and nails and more 💋
The day of your photo shoot we'll start with professional hair and makeup by one of our talented stylists. Again, we can customize your look to be more natural or super-glam - whatever you're feeling for your shoot!
During your photo shoot I'll pose and guide you the entire time. No time will be spent wondering what you're supposed to be doing with your face or hands. As a matter of fact our time together in the studio will fly by!
I'll be showing you your images on the back of my camera starting with pose #1. This will hype you up once you see how absolutely amazing you look!
Alrighty, in summary, let's all say it together.... "PLUS SIZE BOUDOIR IS NO DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER BOUDOIR SESSION"
